Georgia's Christening

This past Saturday we had Georgia's baptism at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. It was a wonderful celebration and we appreciate so many of our family and friends who attended. It was a special day for Georgia and the ceremony was so wonderful. She was such a good baby and didn't make a peep the whole time. She was wide awake and just took it all in.

Just before the mass began - she had the worst case of hiccups! The Christening ceremony The holy water was very cold - she didn't even cry!

The Grandparents and Great-Grandparents

I took some pictures once we got home of Georgia in her christening gown. She was so happy to be home. Everyone came to our house and we celebrated with dinner and fellowship.

On Sunday morning we had brunch with the family.
Here she is playing with cousins Johan and Josef She loved to be held by her great-grandmother, Georgia, who she is named after. It was a long weekend for Miss Georgia -
she just pooped out after everyone left Sunday afternoon!
Here she is with her Popi. Here's a picture of her tree in her room. It is decorated to match her room colors and bedding. She has received lots of ornaments so we've got a large collection going for her to decorate her own Christmas tree each year. I think it turned out really cute and Georgia loves to look at it!

Johnna also got some great pictures of the weekend.
You can see them on her blog at: http://thewebpages.blogspot.com/

Georgia's First Stock Show & Thanksgiving

On Tuesday night of Thanksgiving week we had my sister, Judith, her husband, Chris, and their twin boys, for the night. This was the first time for them to meet Georgia. It was great to see them and the boys helped me determine how much my house was not "baby proofed". Good practice for later with Georgia.

We spent Thanksgiving Day here at home. The meal was served at Jacob's parents. There were around 27 people there! There was SO MUCH FOOD!

After lunch Georgia got to spend time with cousin Sam (Jacob's cousin Amy's baby). Sam is just about a month older than Georgia. We propped them up on the couch and they looked like little grown-ups. At one point Sam put his hand up on Georgia's shoulder - it was too cute!

We also watched the TAMU vs. t.u. game that night. I dressed Georgia up in her Aggie gear to help cheer our Aggies on. They did better than I thought they would and I think it was all due to Georgia's support. Ha!

We spent the weekend in Waco at the Fall Classic Show. It was Georgia's first official stock show and she handled it pretty well. We spent a few hours watching the baby prospect show and TCCA showmanship. My sister, Jennifer, was there with her family so Laurel came to hang out with us for a few hours. She did get to hold Georgia and she kept telling me that Georgia had grown so much since she had seen her and that she was so chubby! It was so funny and I always enjoy getting an earful of what she has to say.

I was so proud of my two neices and nephew. Emily June had Champion Limi in both rings, along with 3rd Overall Grand Steer in Ring A and 5th Overall in Ring B. John Thomas had Reserve Hereford in both rings and Laurel had Champion Simmental in Ring A and Reserve in Ring B (I think I got this all right). What an awesome day! I was also proud of all of those exhibitors we had there showing our cattle. They all worked really hard and I know it was hard to stay positive on such a yucky, windy day!!! We are so fortunate to have such awesome clients and we cherish the friendships we have made with them.

I have a few more pictures, but I am having the typical problems uploading them so hopefully I'll get them up later today!

First Week of December

I cannot believe the first week of December has already gone by. I can't get over how the season is changing and that is already time to decorate for Christmas! Next week Georgia will be three months old!!!
I have been working on decorating the house. I have pretty much finished up with everything. I've been trying to get most of it done since we will have company coming in next weekend for Georgia's Christening. I feel like it took me forever because once I was getting started I would have to stop (courtesy of Miss Georgia). My tree is a little different this year because I did it in red and gold. Still has some work to go, but it's getting there.

Jared, Antonio and I put up Christmas lights on the house yesterday. That was quite a project and I love how Jacob suggested we do it yesterday since he was conveniently out of town (ha!). It took us a while because even though we checked some of the lights they decided not to work when we got them up! Ugh! They turned out good though and we intend to decorate the entrance and Jacob's parents house before they get back from their Vegas trip on Tuesday evening. Hopefully it will be a nice surprise for them when they return home!

Some new things about Georgia.... she loves her pacifier! If she doesn't have it, she chooses to use her entire hand or thumb. So when I figure out she's doing this I put the pacifier because I'd rather her be addicted to the pacifier than the hand. Much easier habit to break since you can take the pacifer away but not the hand! Ha!

For a while I thought she didn't like her Boppy Lounger pillow anymore. However one day when she was irritable I got it back out and boy did she get happy! It's funny because it props her up and she can kick and swing her arms. She loves it and smiles constantly now when she gets to be on it. In fact, when I try to take pictures of her now it is hard to get her to sit still!

Another funny thing about Georgia is that during the night she has to be swaddled in order to sleep well. She can sleep from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. as long as she is swaddled. (We've attempted to get her to sleep unswaddled and she wakes up during the night - I guess she moves her arms and wakes herself up!) The funniest thing is that when she does wake up in the morning she is so happy when I undo the velcro tabs. She stretches her arms and just grins. It is too funny.
