Fabulous 27th Birthday!

On Tuesday I turned the big "27". I can't believe that I am actually 27 years old. That doesn't even sound right!!! My birthday is always at the busiest time of year, especially for Jacob. This is when he does most of his traveling up north to look at cattle. I can't remember the last year that Jacob was home on my birthday. This year I had two doctor's appointments on my birthday. My mother-in-law, Sandy, rode with me to College Station and we went to lunch. Then we got to see the ultrasound of Baby Tusa (at 35 weeks). It was too cool! Nothing like any of the other ultrasounds and we were able to see a really great view of her face. I'm afraid she's already acquired the "Oman cheeks". They already look pretty chubby! It was really neat and pretty exciting though. I hate Jacob missed it. Afterwards we went to see "Mamma Mia" which was so great - if you haven't seen it you really need to! Then we met up with Frank, my father-in-law for dinner.

To top it all off, when I got home late that evening, I had a BEAUTIFUL arrangement of flowers that Jacob had sent me. That was the icing on the cake. I got so many nice calls from family and friends, along with sweet and thoughtful cards from everyone. My brother-in-law, Jared, even suprised me tonight when I got home as he had powerwashed my house! The house paint looks brand new now! Best birthday gift ever. So needless to say, my 27th birthday was great. Thanks to all of you for making it a special one.

35 WEEKS - Only 5 To Go!!!

Can you believe it? I'm 35 weeks along with baby Tusa and only have five or so to go. Wow - how quick this has gone by. I can't complain as this pregnancy has been great with a few minor things along the way. Now days people ask me when I'm due, so that reminds me how much bigger I have gotten! And of course I still get the frequently asked question of "What is her name going to be?" Still undecided and Jacob and I plan to wait until her birthday to make our final decision (so we are still open for any ideas from any of you!). Johnna says I should post a picture on the blog of my baby belly, but I think I'll spare you all! Baby shower is this weekend and I'm really excited to see all of my family and close friends!

#10 on the way...

Congratulations to my sister, Jessica Detten, and her family on the upcoming arrival of their fourth child due sometime in mid-April. We are really excited for you. This will make #10 for the Oman grandchildren! Don't you just know how fun our family reunions and holidays are?

New Arrival - Samuel Marcus Metcalf

Congratulations to Jacob's cousin, Amy, and her husband, Shane Metcalf, on the arrival of their son, Samuel Marcus Metcalf. He weighed 9 lbs. and 3 oz. and was born on Thursday, August 08. He is precious and healthy - we are so happy for them!

NURSERY

As most of you know, our first child, a baby girl, is due October 1. As soon as we found out in May that we were having a girl I have been working on the nursery. I guess now you could say I'm a little obsessed with it, but do you blame me? With the help of Stacey Beal at Madeline's Room in Abilene and after tons of research and shopping around, I have pretty much got the baby's room ready. Now all we need is for her to arrive! Now that it is finished, Jacob and I find ourselves just sitting in the rocker, just taking it all in. I can't believe that we only have six weeks to go. Here are a few pictures as it is now!

Finally Johnna - I did it!

Well, after my sister, Johnna, has mentioned for quite some time that I should establish a blog.... I finally did it. Bear with me until I can get this figured out, but at least it's a start!
