July 2010

Georgia and I spent a few days at my parents just before the 4th. We were able to visit lots of friends and family while we were there. This is a busy time in Stamford because they are making preparations for the Texas Cowboy Reunion which they have each year before the 4th. Jacob was able to come out for two nights and he and I went to the Art Preview Party which is always a really event to attend. Georgia, Mom and I went to the parade with my grandparents. It was Georgia's first parade and she didn't quite know what to think about it. We took our chairs and set up just before it began. It rained just a bit before it started but the weather was so nice and cool. We sat with Joe's wife Dottie and she and Georgia clicked right away when Dottie let her drink and told her about the candy that there would be in the parade.

I LOVE this picture of Grandma.

Georgia was a little freaked out about the parade at first but then she realized that when you wave they throw you candy. That was all it took and by the end of the parade she was blowing them kisses.

Our neighbor, Kenneth Hansen, restored this car. Isn't it awesome?

Man, was she tired - everyone was leaving and we couldn't get Georgia to get up out of the chair!

That night we went to the first performance of the rodeo. Georgia was a little tired but she was a real trooper. We also convinced Grandma and Papaw to come along with us.

We were able to see my friend, Megan, from high school at the rodeo. She and her husband had a little girl a few months after Georgia was born. She is so sweet and her name is Scout. Of course, Scout is petite and Georgia is tall so they look like there is alot of age difference. They held hands and each tried to push Georgia's stroller around.

LOVED getting caught up on all that ya'll have been doing the past few months. The shower turned out so cute and the pics of sweet Ali and her parents are precious! Miss Georgia is just too cute. I will make sure you get a copy of the pic of the grandkids if you make sure to share yours from the baptism too...A few of mine did not turn out. Can't wait to see you in a few weeks!
